3. #1. Posted September 2, 2014. Just picked up a 2004 Sportsman 600. Was running great. After a day of tearing up the yard, it will not staying idling unless I am giving it a bit of gas. I looked for the idle adjustment screw but it was not where the manual illustrated it. Any ideas would be appreciated.Here are the stator / ignitions for Polaris models that can be “cured” on the cheap with these little black boxes: Sportsman 600 Carb 2003-2005 Sportsman 700 Carb 2002-2006 Sportsman MV7 Carb 2005 Big Boss 500 6x6 1998-20001. Remove upper rack 4 t27 star bolts. 2. Remove front grill piece says polaris brand on it. 3. Remove plastic that covers the fuse brr. ( right under handle bars). 4.remove the metal part of the rack. 5. I have an 04 sportsman 600 twin. It had bad slipping problems so I bought a new belt, a gates gforce 19g3982e. The OEM belt looked good. It was a 3211091. The secondary clutch ended up being bad. Polaris discontinued it, so I bought one on eBay with same number. Put it on and now its like the belt is not disengaging.
